pivot point of this site is music.
in the age of 16 i began playing electric bass. some other
instruments followed, music became an important part of my life. when i
bought my first computer in 2001 audio processing and music production
aroused my interest - with increasing intensity.
for some years now, i mainly
create soundgenerators with some high level development
environments like pure data and reaktor and i'm interested in
low level coding too.
on this site you can
find some information and downloads on these development environments
and some of my selfbuilt patches. check out the "REAKTOR" and "PURE
DATA" area for further information.
if you want to listen to my tracks you can do this in the
"AUDIO" area.
you
like this website and wanna give me some feedback? you have suggestions
on how to improve it (...except my poor english *GG*)? click on
"CONTACT" and leave a note.
thank you for your visit.... enjoy!
[audio]
here you can listen to some of my tracks.
since i began producing electronic music in 2004 i released some single
tracks and one album called 'lost
alias' at weird and wired records
(waw007). you can download the tracks by clicking on the trackname or
just listen to them with the embedded mp3 player. enjoy.
tools: double bass, musical saw, cakewalk sonar, ni reaktor and a load
of freeware stuff.
this track has the distinction of having weird and kind of
stumbling drums. the double bass and musical saw were recorded (and
mangled ;-)...) by my own. a rough second part with a biting reese.
tools: musical saw, cakewalk sonar, ni reaktor and a load of freeware
stuff.
this might be my personal favourite. i always liked it although it's a
little more crude than some of my other track... asian style
instruments, wicked beat, a bass that sounds like raped hog and a
selfbuild 303 clone in the middlepart.
reaktor
is a modular audio software that enables you to build your own
instruments, effects and soundgenerators. it's famous for it's high
quality sounds, it's steep learning curve (relative to complex realtime
audio programming languages like supercollider,
chuck or csound)
and -last but not least - for it's stability. all reaktor ensembles can
be easily used in host applications via vst(i), direct x or audio units
interface and are controllable via midi
or open
sound control (osc).
in this column i present some of my reaktor works. you can download
them for free, although you will need to own reaktor to use them wich
is not(!) freeware.
this ensemble is my reaktor version of the famous "dblue glitch vst".
a sequenced fx bank featuring effects like stutter, lfo gater,
reverser, modulator, comb filter, tape stop effect, a special
shuffle algorithm a grain stretcher, filter with several modulation
sources, delay and pitch shifter. suggestions for more??? ;)
especially for mac users this could be a nice present, since glitch vst
is only available for win platform (afaik). download link: toxonic_glitch_4

after i read an interesting reaktor
tutorial about loop sampler based live ensembles by martin
brinkmann
i decided to build an easy to use and powerful live ensembel based on
that idea. in the reakor user library someone suspected me of having
recreated abelton live selfhandedly... now, not really - but it's worth
a try!!! ;) download link: toxonic_live

named after one of the most famous
drum'n bass breaks, originally from "the winstons", this ensemble is
just a simple but useful 8 channel drum sampler with sample selection,
2 amp envelopes, mute switch, filter, fx send, reverse playback,
pitch,...
per channel. download link: amen_brother

this
little 6 channel percussion and drum computer is the perfect partner
for building minimal style click and clacks to hardstyle kicks and
acid-ish basslines. this instrument is simple but sounds like a beast.

in this column you can get some information
and downloads on my selfbuilt pure data patches.
pure data is a graphical based realtime coding environment for
datastream based applications such as audio, video or graphics.
although it's a very complex development environment it's also subject
to an obvious logic, extendable because it's open source and really
powerful and has a comparatively steep learning curve. to use my
patches you have to install pure data on your machine.
you can download pure data here.
winds
of doom (soundscape generator for howling winds and
drop sounds)
guitar_rack
(multi fx with simple signal flow editor)
::chop_suey::
this is a tool for slicing beat-
and percussion-loops into it's single hits. it features auto slice
detection, amp envelope and slice dumping to harddisk (wav).
you can shift, delete or insert slice markers manually or just
reanalyse the file with custom settings. the built-in sequencer
features a stepwise retrigger, reverser, pitch-shifter,
grain-stretcher... should be possible to get it to
work via vst within your favourite host application with
"pdvst".
this is a free alternative to it's famous beat recycling brother. download link: chop_suey

i
borrowed the idea for this patch from tim exiles reaktor ensemble
"vectory". it's mainly a combination of several fx (in this case: eq,
saturator, phaser, bit crusher and a granular pitcher). you can store
presets on two banks for all fx-parameters and "morph" with the slider
on the bottom between these two banks. mangle all sounds you want with
this, sometimes the results are really amazing. download link: morphine

this keymasher is just a small tool with the most
common idm-ish fx and "qwerty" keyboard control and this way perfect
for live-mangling of all kinds of input signals like voices, beats or
even melodic instruments. this package includes
a testsampler (for demonstration purposes) and the embedded [glitch~]
abstraction, the heart of it all. open the keymasher.pd file
to start the patch. download link: toxonic_keymasher

winds
of doom is a soundgenerator. inspiered by the wonderful "space drone"
reaktor ensemble it aims to generate all kinds of soundscapes from
howling wind over raindrops to spark effect sounds. it
consits of a variable amount of bandpass filtered white noise
generators (by default 50), spreaded in harmonic tonal offsets over the
whole frequency spectre. hint: it won't be a good idea to use it within
a DAW since this lil bastard is a real cpu hog. i recommended it to be
used as a sample generator, not in realtime with other fx and
instruments. download link: winds_of_doom

this
little patch is a collection of some quality standard guitar effects
like auto- (or manual) wah-wah, phaser (comb filter), tremolo, tap
delay and chorus. initially supposed to be controlled by e.g.
a
midi-foodcontroller i did not implement midi yet(cuz i own no
footcontroller *gg*). there's a signal flow editor on top of
the
patch, where you can simply type the effects in
the desired order - et voila, you won't need pull plugs
and cables anymore. *gg* download link: guitar_rack
